Target Launches Paper Wine Bottles Across 1,200 Stores in the U.S.

U.S. retail giant Target has introduced its new private-label wine brand in Frugal Bottles, a sustainable bottle format made from 94% recycled paperboard and a food-grade inner pouch.

The new format reduces the carbon footprint by 84% compared to traditional glass and weighs five times less.

With over 256,000 bottles ordered, Target expects to save nearly 98 metric tons of CO₂e, demonstrating a powerful case for eco-friendly design driving real business impact.

This is more than just a bottle—it’s a signal of what’s possible when retail supply chains embrace sustainability at scale.
